Formula for the Perfect Introduction

Has this ever happened to you? You are at a social event and when it is time to introduce two people that you want to make a positive impression on, you freeze?

Just remember this formula for the perfect introduction:

Always address the person of greater authority or eldest person.

  • A client is always considered more important than a colleague or the boss.

  • Always use first and last names when introducing others and/or yourself.

Say: Name of Greater Authority or eldest person…

May I present… (or)

May I introduce… (or)

May I introduce to you…

Name of Lesser Authority or youngest person…

And voila! Everyone is introduced and engaged in conversation and you have made a lasting impression.
